Summary:

The Ruger 10 22 is probably one of the most popular .22lr caliber rifles out there and for good reason. The Ruger 10 22 is very easy to customize with my aftermarket options available, and is a highly reliable semi automatic rimfire rifle.

Profile of the Ruger 10 22 Takedown

The Ruger 10 22 is probably one of the most popular .22lr caliber rifles out there and for good reason. The Ruger 10 22 is very easy to customize with my aftermarket options available, and is a highly reliable semi automatic rimfire rifle.

The MSRP for the Ruger 10/22 Takedown model is $389. You can easily find this rifle for less than that though, given the popularity of the 10/22 this rifle can often be found for selling closer to the $300 mark.

I took the 10/22 out for varmint hunting and plinking. I found the weapon to be extremely accurate with both the cheap Fiocchi .22lr ammunition, and the more expensive CCI mini-mag 36grain hollow point rounds.

Just using the iron sights (plastic sight posts), this weapon easily has pinpoint accuracy within 30yards out of the box, and with some practice you might be able to get out to 50yards with pinpoint accuracy with the sight posts. Attaching a scope to the rifle is very easy, as the popularity of the rifle means that almost all of the major producers of scopes offer a rimfire scope that is compatible with the 10/22.

The detachable rotary 10 round magazine recesses within the weapon, making the rifle look less aggressive than with the available extended capacity magazine (model BX-25). The extended capacity magazine makes the weapon look reminiscent of a Kalashnikov with the curved magazine that protrudes about 8″.

The takedown model features:
